Link_TSG6: potential ‘game-changing’ protein biologic with unique anti-inflammatory and tissue protective properties

Link_TSG6 is based on TSG-6, a protein that is made in all of our organs and tissues in response to inflammation and trauma. TSG-6 has been found to mediate many of the immunomodulatory and reparative activities of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). This finding has led to a wealth of publications on the therapeutic effects of recombinant human full-length TSG-6 (rhTSG-6) in a wide range of inflammatory and tissue degenerative disease models, including those for musculoskeletal and ophthalmological conditions [1].

Link_TSG6, the isolated Link module from human TSG-6, is an 11-kDa recombinant protein that retains most of the functions of full-length TSG-6 [1]. It has more potent disease modifying effects compared to TSG-6 in various disease models and has superior solubility and stability in solution.
